How do I create an account?
To create an account, click on the "Sign Up" button on the homepage. You'll need to provide your email address and create a password. Verify your email to activate your account.
Is GenesisBudget free to use?
GenesisBudget offers both free and paid subscription plans. The free plan includes basic budgeting features with usage limits, while our Pro plan provides unlimited access to all features including unlimited budgets, portfolios, goals, and advanced tools.
What's the difference between free and paid plans?
Free users have access to core budgeting features with usage limits (limited number of budgets, portfolios, and goals). Pro subscribers enjoy unlimited access to all features, including unlimited budgets and portfolios, advanced goal templates, CSV export capabilities, and priority support.
Can I try before signing up?
Absolutely! We offer a demonstration mode that allows you to explore the platform without creating an account. Look for the "Try Demo" button on our homepage.
How many budgets can I create?
Free users can create a limited number of budgets as specified in their account dashboard. Pro subscribers can create unlimited budgets with no restrictions.
How does the envelope budgeting system work?
Our envelope system allows you to allocate your income to different spending categories (envelopes). Once you've spent the money in a particular envelope, you'll know you've reached your limit for that category.
Can I share my budget with my spouse or partner?
This is a feature we are looking into adding in the future.
What is the debt snowball method?
The debt snowball method focuses on paying off debts from smallest to largest balance, regardless of interest rate. This provides psychological wins as you completely eliminate debts quickly, motivating you to continue.
Can I track my credit score through GenesisBudget?
We don't currently offer direct credit score monitoring, but we provide tools to help you improve financial behaviors that positively impact your credit score.
How do I reset my password?
Click on the "Forgot Password" link on the login page. Answer the security questions from your account details to reset your password.
Can I change my email address?
You can make the request via the contact us link at the bottom of every page.
How do I delete my account?
You can delete your account from your account settings page. Please note that account deletion is permanent and will remove all your data from our system.
How much does the Pro plan cost?
Our Pro plan pricing is available on the pricing page. We offer both monthly and annual billing options, with savings available for annual subscriptions.
Can I cancel my subscription at any time?
Yes, you can cancel your subscription at any time from your account settings. Your Pro features will remain active until the end of your current billing period.
What happens if I downgrade to the free plan?
If you downgrade, you'll retain access to your data, but some features may become limited according to free plan restrictions. Items exceeding free limits will be disabled but not deleted.
Do you offer refunds?
Subscriptions are generally non-refundable, but we may consider refunds on a case-by-case basis. Please contact our support team to discuss your specific situation.
Is my financial information secure?
Yes, we use industry-standard encryption and security practices to protect your data. We never sell your personal information to third parties.
Does GenesisBudget have access to my bank accounts?
